About Skratchsphere

Built for how Nigerian estates actually run.

Skratchsphere Limited makes the utilities and daily operations of estates and commercial buildings work the way residents were promised. Boreholes that deliver clean water. Sewage plants that pass inspection. Power that is metered and explained. An estate manager who shows the books.

How we started

A problem everyone in Nigerian estates knows, and nobody owned.

Water from the borehole that stained the tiles and was never tested. A sewage plant installed at handover and never serviced again. A diesel bill that rose every month while nobody could explain the tariff. Service charges collected, and accounts never shown.

A team of engineers and facility managers who had spent their careers inside these estates decided the answer was not another vendor. It was an operator: one company that would check the systems, fix what was broken, run them every day and report every month to the people paying for them. That company is Skratchsphere Limited, which had its inception in 2019, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today we support more than 20 estates on Chevron Drive in Lekki, estates in Abuja and Port Harcourt, and office buildings in Lekki and Marina, and we are installing and commissioning new water and sewage plants on estates under construction. The promise has not changed since the first contract: check, fix, run, report.

Vision

Every estate and building in Nigeria running on water you can drink, sewage that passes inspection, power you can budget for and accounts you can read.

Mission

To design, fix and run the water, sewage, power and daily operations of estates and commercial buildings across Nigeria, with registered engineers on site, open books every month and one accountable partner from the first inspection to the last report.

Where we are going

Three goals, with dates attached.

We publish our goals so our clients can hold us to them.

  1. 2027

    Results on record

Monthly water and effluent test results published for every estate we run, and solar hybrid power delivered to our first estates with financing partners.

  2. 2028

    Teams in three cities

Operations teams based in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, serving estates and buildings in every geopolitical zone.

  3. 2030

    Estates built around their utilities

Water, sewage and power designed, built and operated for new estates from the drawing board, and the first estates developed by Skratchsphere itself.

What we believe

Four rules we work by.

Open books.
Any money we manage on behalf of residents is reported monthly and audited annually. If a number cannot be explained, it should not be on the bill.
Engineering discipline.
Plants get designed, commissioned, maintained and tested on a schedule. We would rather tell you a plant is undersized than let it fail on a public holiday.
Ownership.
One contract, one accountable manager, one number to call. When something breaks at 2am, it is our problem before it is yours.
Proof over promises.
Every claim on this site is a site we run, a result we measured or a goal with a date on it.
Leadership

The people accountable for the promise.

Each one named, and each accountable in writing for a part of the promise.

Cajethan (Chukwujekwu) Nwangwu

General Manager

Cajethan runs Skratchsphere day to day from Nigeria and leads its relationship with every client. A chemical engineer and a certified management consultant, he runs the company the way he would advise a client to run theirs: one accountable owner for every system, decisions taken from measured numbers, and a written report to the people paying, every month.

He answers to each client's executive committee for what every Skratchsphere contract sets out: the scope, the response times, the monthly report and the annual audit. He holds the company to its four rules, open books, engineering discipline, ownership and proof over promises, and he is the person an exco calls when any of them is broken.

Chijioke Ofoegbu

Head of Finance and Commercial

Chijioke keeps Skratchsphere's books open. He is accountable for the finance in every monthly estate report: service charge billed, collected and outstanding by unit, spend against the approved budget, and the reconciliations behind each figure. He prepares the accounts for the annual independent audit, and runs the commercial side of the business: the financial models for solar hybrid systems delivered with financing partners, the tariff formula in each energy service agreement, and the business cases that show an exco which upgrade pays back first. An accountant, he holds a Master's in Investment Analysis from Aston Business School and a first-class degree in Finance from the University of Lagos.

Harrison (Chibuzo) Idimogu

Harrison (Chibuzo) Idimogu

Head of Water and Wastewater

Harrison leads Skratchsphere's water and wastewater engineering: treatment plant design, sewage plant rehabilitation and new builds, commissioning, and the monthly testing that keeps every plant within the national drinking water standard and state effluent limits. A COREN-registered chemical engineer with twelve years in engineering, he was one of the pioneer engineers on the basic and detailed engineering design, EPC and commissioning of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals: at 650,000 barrels per stream day, the world's largest single-train refinery, and a US$19 billion project. He holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, and supervises the design and commissioning of every plant Skratchsphere builds or rehabilitates.

Emmanuel Egbuche

Emmanuel Egbuche

Head of Energy

Emmanuel leads Skratchsphere's energy work: metered audits, generator and fuel controls, prepaid metering and tariffs, and solar hybrid systems delivered with financing partners. He brings over ten years in energy services, including more than five years maintaining generator, battery and hybrid power systems on telecom sites across Nigeria. He holds an MSc in Energy Engineering from the University of Hull, where he also modelled capital investment and asset performance as an energy engineer. At Skratchsphere he turns that into the number every exco wants: the true cost per kilowatt-hour, and a plan to bring it down.

Obinna Obiaga

Obinna Obiaga

Head of Facility Management and Operations

Obinna runs the estates and buildings Skratchsphere manages, day and night, drawing on fifteen years in facility management and estate operations. The estate managers, shift supervisors, helpdesk and vendor contracts report to him, and so does the operations section of the monthly estate report: collections follow-up, vendor performance, and helpdesk tickets opened, closed and overdue. When an estate changes manager, he runs the ninety-day transition, from the handover audit and asset register to the residents' briefing.

Abraham Obiechie

Abraham Obiechie

Senior Project Planner and Project Lead

Abraham plans, schedules and controls Skratchsphere's water, sewage and energy projects, from the Health Check programme through installation and commissioning to handover. A chemical engineer with a process engineering background, he knows the unit operations inside every plant he schedules: aeration, filtration, softening, adsorption and disinfection in water treatment; biological treatment, clarification and sludge handling in sewage; load and fuel balances in power. His programmes follow how plants are actually built and commissioned, so the sequence on paper matches the sequence on site.
